The new Academy of Design Australia campus is shaping up to be a bright place for students to study design arts.

Architects Gray Puksand and branding agency Ellis Jones are working together to develop bespoke signage and wall graphics to mark out floor levels and studio rooms. Furniture fabric has also been selected. The interior look emerging is industrial, to suit the warehouse environment, with a splash of colour to spark creativity.

The building is on track for a December completion. The builders are installing the final windows and waterproofing of the roof is almost complete. The high warehouse ceilings have been painted white to reflect light, walls continue to go up to define studios and classrooms, and fittings and fixtures such as benches and sinks are being installed on the first floor.

The first event in the new building will be held on Tuesday 12 December. Year 12 students graduating in 2017, and TAFE students looking to gain credit and fast-track a Bachelor’s degree, are encouraged to attend the afternoon information session, tour the completed areas of the new building, and find out how to launch a career in the creative industries!
